Peppermint Patty and Marcie

Wanted to do this one for a while. Here's Peppermint Patty (my favorite Peanuts character) and Marcie from the Peanuts by Charles Shultz. These were such great ideas for characters, they worked off of each other so well, and they were the first lesbian couple in the world of Sunday morning comics! P. Patty was a tomboy slacker who loved sports but couldn't stay awake in class (if I had to spend all day listening to a teacher who only says "wawawawa", I'd fall asleep, too), while Marcie was a study bug and Patty's bestfriend/"secretary", always carrying her stuff, waking her up in school, helping her with her school work and calling her "sir". Well, I always am reminded of cartoons based on Sunday comics this time of year since I grew up watching specials like "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown", and the Garfield holiday specials.
I dedicate this picture to the late Charles Shultz. He may be gone but his art and wit will continue to bring joy to us forever.
