Wreck-It Ralph

Description

Here's a tribute I did for the recent film, Wreck-It Ralph. I usually don't dig these CGI kids movies that come out all the time these days (yet Disney still does them quite well), but, perhaps partially due to my gamer's bias, I thoroughly enjoyed Wreck-It Ralph.
Here we have the star of the flick, Ralph, voiced by (the great) John C. Reiley, a big lug who's tired of playing the villain. Ralph is probably my favorite character in the film. We also have Fix-It Felix Jr., the hero of the arcade of the same name. Voiced by Jack McBreyer (Kenneth, 30 Rock), I felt they did a perfect job with this character. McBreyer was perfect for the overly optimistic and dorky hero of old school gaming. Also we have the ridiculously adorable Vanellope Von Schweetz, voiced by Sarah Silverman. Silverman's voice didn't work too good for me at first. Don't get me wrong, Sarah Silverman's a little cutie pie herself, but her using the same voice she used for her creepy and pathetic lead character of the Sarah Silverman Program seemed a little, well, out of place for a character who's supposed to be a little kid. Either way, I got used to it. Vanellope is a character from the cart racing game Sugar Rush, and is treated as an outcast being called a "glitch", and, yeah, she's freaking adorable as hell. I didn't notice until drawing her that her ribbon is a Twizzler and her skirt is a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup wrapper. That just makes her even cuter.
I filled the background with quick doodles of arcade games such as Q-Bert, Dig Dug, Tapper, and Space Invaders. The movie had so many game character cameos, I actually missed a handful of them. Well, enjoy.
