Very nice interpretation of It. Still my favorite King novel. I love how you worked the Deadlights in.

Out of all or the Stephen kings mini series, this was probably the biggest letdown for me. But I will give the spider some credit though. Despite the Spider being one of the worst animatronics I've ever seen(though to be fair it was low budget),its still better than The horrible CGI Langoliers and The shining remake. Heck even better than the Son of mask CGI effects(btw that it is one of the worst movies I've ever seen)and that ones newer.

I actually think with the small budget, short air-time frame, short production-time frame, the television restrictions and the low budget for staff they actually pulled off a pretty amazing miniseries for It. It's certainly not as affevtive as the book, but they did a good job filtering out the unnecesary stuff and keeping the more pivotal things. Even the things they left out they make reference to. Many of the instances with Mike and Henry when they were little are referenced to, Patrick is referenced to, and several other things they didn't have time to actually feature. I will admit that by the second half it begins to get really ridiculous. By the end it is more funny than scary, but the overall movie isn't bad in my opinion.

Is it weird that this scares me less than the clown?

Nah. The clown is WAY scarier.

yeah this was one of the things I didnt like about the series because Pennywise is a universal evil who is shapeless and beyond what a normal human mind could concieve (a tad hp lovecraft lol). Still, your version of Its true form is much more creepy

Okay, WOW....I'm a big fan of King myself, because he is FUCKING awesome and everything. I've read IT, but not since high school 5 or so years back, and I love the movie...you REALLY got IT's form down here really well! Deadlights and everything!

Thanks a lot. I'm really glad to hear that from a fellow Stephen King fan. I have some more King artwork in my gallery and I plan to put up one for "Firestarter" soon.

LOL that's funny. one fan's seen the movie, but not the book and one fan's read the book, but not seen the movie!

one reason, aside from being huge fan of King, that i'd like to read more and more of his stuff, is because i read online that at SOME point, most if not all his horror books are linked in some ways, and that The Dark Tower series is the lynchpin of the whole universe.

Yeah, I've heard about that too, as well as noticing some of that myself. I've noticed, aside from the many fictional Maine towns he constantly features like Derry and Castlerock, the town "Jerusalems's Lot" reappears a lot. Aside from the book "'Salem's Lot", the occurances of that book and the town are made referrence to in multiple short stories in "Night Shift", and the town is commonly mentioned in other books. I noticed that the Irish cop from "It" is also a cop in Maine during the 50s in a short story called "Sometimes They Come Back" in "Skeleton Crew". I've also heard that Mike Hanlon is once again the librarian of Derry in "Insomnia", a book I have not yet read. In "Firestarter" there is a character named Patrick Hockstetter, just like in "It", though the two characters are not in any way the same. I've noticed a couple others but not as many as other people say there are. That fact interested me a lot, too.

I also read online that, in the Tommyknockers, some of the changed people (I think, it's been awhile since I read that book, and it's in my room XD) visits Derry and he says he saw a "Clown with silver dollars for eyes, holding balloons, waving at him from beneath a sewer drain"...GUESS WHO! hehehehe

Yeah it's a bit of a let down, though King does mention that the spider is still only the worst form they can possibly comprehend on Earth, that it's TRUE true form is so terrifying that you'd go insane just by looking at it (the deadlights).

its more than that. DARK TOWER SPOILER AHEAD!!!.

Theres a couple of theories of Why does pennywise true form is a Spider. The first one beeing that he is Related somehow to the Crimson King "The Lord of the Dark Tower, King of Everything and Lord of The Spiders". some belive that the crimson king actually casted pennywise to one of the multiverses conected to the tower.
Others belive that he might be related to Dandelo, a servant of the king who (after beeing Defeated) turns onto A Clown....
Others belive that when bill sees pennywise arival he says "It came from outerspace" and down it says (between space or between spaces). Theres some who belive that Pennywise is a creature that comes from the Universe of The Mist/Buick 8. that He is a remnesent of the Chaos that existed until The Turtle forced order and placed those creatures between the cracks of reality and the universes, that Pennywise managed to Escape after the Arrowhead Proyect and slided through the universes towards the one of the Book. That would explain also the shape of The Bird that the looser club face when heading towards It.
