Plumber Haters - Rex by BrendanCorris Plumber Haters - Rex by BrendanCorris
The 13th picture in my series, "The Plumber Haters". Rex is a commonly ignored enemy from the Mario series with the exception of his appearance in "Mario and Luigi : Superstar Sage", and his appearances in the Super Mario World cartoon show. He is, however, one of the most memorable enemies from the game in my opinion. You just enter "Dinosaur Land", and he is the first dinosaur you are faced with. I know it's hard for Nintendo to work any of the dinosaurs into later Mario titles since they all lived in Dinosaur Land, but then why the hell is Yoshi still everywhere?
Jumping off these guys' heads gave you lots of air, and with the double stomp requirement, you could get loads of lives around groups of these dudes.
Rex from Super Mario World (SNES)

I agree with you, these guys are unforgettable.  It's weird how they disappeared.

A lot of the dino enemies seemed to disappear. Dino Rhino and Eerie faded away, too. Only Blaarg seemed to stay.

I never realized until now that Eeries were supposed to be dinosaurs.  In the game they just look like ugly ghosts.

My love for the Rexes is tied in with my memory of playing Super Nintendo for the first time ever.  The girl teaching me how to play the game said, "You just flatten these guy accordion-style."  I thought that was hilarious.

Haha, pretty much. Rex was pretty much the fist new enemy we all met on SNES, so I guess that's why he's remained so memorable for most of us.

Haters gonna hate.

Though, really, I love that go-get-'em expression he has. It really fits the character.
